Welcome to MGR DigiLearn. MGR DigiLearn is an educational Learning Management System (LMS) designed for students, faculty members, and administrators of Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and manage your information when you use the MGR DigiLearn mobile or web application.

By using the application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Depending on your role in the platform (Student, Faculty, or Admin), we may collect the following information:

The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the app, the choices you make and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:

• Name, Email Address, and Role (Student, Faculty, Admin).
• Usage data, learning interactions, and activity within the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information collected via our app for a variety of educational and administrative purposes described below:

• To facilitate account creation and logon process.
• To deliver and facilitate delivery of services to the user. We may use your information to provide you with the requested learning materials, courses, and updates.
• To send administrative information to you. We may use your personal information to send you product, service and new feature information and/or information about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.

3. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?

We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill academic obligations within the MGR DigiLearn platform. Your educational data is visible only to authorized faculty and administrators.

4. Role-Based Access

MGR DigiLearn follows role-based access control to protect user data.

Students

Students can:

• View learning materials
• Bookmark academic resources

Students cannot:

• Access other students' information
• Modify course content or system data

Faculty

Faculty members can:

• Upload the course materials
• Submit DCL forms
• Organize content for assigned courses
• Get E-Certificate (if Admin Approve)

Faculty cannot:

• Access administrative controls
• Modify personal data of students

Administrators

Administrators can:

• Manage user accounts
• Review and approve or reject DCL submissions
• Monitor system activity and platform settings

Administrative actions may be logged for accountability and security.

5. Security of Your Information

We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures, including secured Firebase databases. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect system improvements or regulatory changes. The updated version will be indicated by the Last Updated date.

7. Data Storage

User data and academic content are securely stored using Firebase services provided by Google. These services use industry-standard security measures to protect stored information.

8. Children's Privacy

MGR DigiLearn is intended for use by registered students and faculty members of Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute. The platform does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 outside the institutional environment.

9. Account Deletion

MGR DigiLearn provides student users with the ability to delete their accounts from within the application.

Student Accounts

Students may delete their accounts using the Delete Account option available in the application settings. Once confirmed, the account and associated personal information stored in the system will be removed from the platform, except for data that may be retained for legitimate academic or administrative purposes.

Faculty and Administrator Accounts

Faculty and administrator accounts are created and managed by the institution. These accounts cannot be deleted directly through the application. If account removal is required, it must be requested through the system administrator.
